FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • The large viewing window allows the wearer's facial expressions to be clearly visible.
  • The battery-operated pane heating keeps the viewing window fog free.
  • The mask body, which is closed at the top, prevents glasses from misting up when exhaling.
  • The filters can easily be exchanged, making the mask usable in the long term.
  • The filter medium’s special pleating offers a larger filter surface area. This reduces breathing resistance, making breathing effortless even during prolonged physical exertion.
  • The ergonomically shaped mask body made of a skin-friendly material (TPE) is pleasantly soft to wear and prevents skin irritation.
  • The easily adjustable head strap is comfortable regardless of hairstyle and prevents pressure points developing behind the ear.

The ALPHAMASK® is an FMP2 mask and is certified according to the strict European test standards.

Due to the advantages of the exchangeable filters and their reusability, the ALPHAMASK® is classified as a multi-part half mask and is not subject to the test standard for one-piece disposable FFP2 half masks (EN 149).

The multi-part structure of the ALPHAMASK® described (mask body + exchangeable filters) requires more complex test processes according to FMP2 (EN 1827:1999 + A1:2009). These test criteria are based on the well-known FFP2 test and feature a large number of additional tests.

For example:

· Fit and tightness of the mask to the face
· Tight fit of the replaceable filters
· Breathing resistance and filter performance.
· Unrestricted field of vision

The ALPHAMASK® thus offers advantages over disposable FFP2 masks.

Only highly efficient FFP2 filter media from a renowned Austrian and European manufacturer are used and installed in the ALPHAMASK® filter body.

The ALPHAMASK® can be worn by all adults.

Due to the flexible face shape of the ALPHAMASK®, both women and men can wear the mask. The mask was designed for a Central European standard head according to EN 960 and is suitable for persons whose distance between the tip of the nose and the tip of the chin is approx. 74mm (+/- 10% deviation).

The ALPHAMASK's® large viewing window allows lip movements to be easily read. It is therefore particularly suitable for:

  • wearers of glasses
  • people with impaired hearing
  • user groups with a high level of customer contact
  • communication in the educational and schools sector (kindergartens, schools, seminars, etc.)
  • use in speech therapy and communication

We recommend consulting a doctor if you have respiratory complaints or similar health problems.

According to German Statutory Accident Insurance regulation 112-190, the Labour Inspectorate stipulates that protective masks without exhalation valves must be removed for at least 30 minutes after they have been worn for 75 minutes.

The ALPHAMASK® has reduced breathing resistance compared to disposable FFP2 masks and can therefore be worn longer. The reasons for this are the size of the breathing chamber and the size of the filter surface area (special pleated filter medium).

The ALPHAMASK® can therefore be used for a period of 4 to 6 hours.

This also corresponds to the average battery life, which can vary depending on the conditions of use (ambient air temperature). It should be expressly mentioned here that the ALPHAMASK® meets the filter criteria even without a heated pane, but the pane could then fog up.

Due to a smart control system which is specially developed for the ALPHAMASK®, it guarantees an optimal window heating.

In the connection area of the plug, there is a sensor incorporated, which constantly measures the ambient temperature to adapt the intensity of the window heating to the requirements. The ongoing regulation ensures an optimal temperature of the window heating, furthermore the battery life gets extended enormously, because less energy is used in mild temperatures.

The ALPHAMASK® mask body and lens must be disinfected regularly.

To do this, remove both breathing filters beforehand and disconnect the cable from the pane; See instructions for attaching the breathing filter in reverse order (7 - 1).

Use a clean and soft cotton or microfiber cloth. To do this, first spray the cleaning agent (attention: alcohol content not higher than 20%) on the cloth and use it to clean the mask body and lens.

Pay special attention to the face rest and hidden, hard-to-reach areas on the inside of the mask.

After cleaning and disinfecting, allow the mask to air dry for a few minutes. Then insert both breathing filters, fix them with straps and attach the cables to the window (attaching the breathing filters 1 - 7).

IMPORTANT: We expressly discourage using aggressive cleaning agents or disinfectants containing alcohol. These may damage the pane's special coating – and therefore also its heating – and cause premature fogging (saturation effect). High-temperature treatments (max. 55°C) can cause the mask and pane to deform.

To change the filters correctly, use the illustrated, easy-to-understand ALPHAMASK® step-by-step instructions enclosed in the packaging or online.

The filters can easily be removed from the mask body and changed. To do this, loosen the rubber band that holds the filter in position and pull the filter out of the mask body.

When inserting the filter, pay attention to the filter markings. We recommend aligning the ALPHAMASK® from the user's point of view (mask with face shape facing the user). The filters are marked with "left” and "right” and cannot be inserted incorrectly due to their form-fitting characteristics.

IMPORTANT: After inserting the filters, please check that they are correctly and, above all, tightly seated in the mask body. Correctly inserted filters can be recognised by the white indicator heads of the filters inside the mask body. The indicator heads must penetrate the fastening openings provided and seal them properly.

The pair of filters should be changed at different intervals, depending on usage and stress (indoor, outdoor, large temperature fluctuations, air contamination level). General guide values for the service life can not be given, because they are dependent on external conditions, such as nature and intensity of the pollutants, air requirement of the user, humidity and temperature. The particulate filters must be replaced, if there is a significant increase of breathing resistance noticeable. Non-binding recommendation by the manufacturers, depending on external conditions, approximately 4-6 weeks.

The generous breathing chamber/air space, as well as the ALPHAMASK® filter medium’s special pleating enable problem-free, easy breathing, even during physical exertion, as well as high speech quality.
